What’s in store for the advertising market

The Reklama 2023 conference programme hosted the Strategic Session on Russian Advertising 2023: Market, Trends, Technologies, organised by EXPOCENTRE AO with the support of the Russian Association of Communication Agencies (RACA). It was moderated by RACA Vice President Valentin Smolyakov.

In his welcome speech, First Deputy Chair at the Russian State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications Anton Tkachev noted that the advertising industry is becoming particularly relevant today in the conditions of sanctions pressure and with new manufacturers entering the Russian domestic market.

First Deputy Director General at EXPOCENTRE Sergey Selivanov said that this year Reklama had increased in terms of space and the number of exhibitors by more than 50%, which shows that it is in demand. The entire range of advertising media is presented at the exhibition.  

The session participants included Chair at the Committee of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Entrepreneurship in Advertising, RACA President Sergey Piskarev, Deputy Head at the Department for Control over Advertising and Unfair Competition  of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia Andrey Logoshin, Executive Director at the Association of Branded Goods Manufacturers (Rusbrand) Aleksey Popovichev, Board Chair at the Advertising Council Association Sergey Pilatov, and other heads and experts of relevant associations, representatives of public authorities and major agencies.

The participants discussed the capabilities and opportunities of the advertising market in the current realities as well as its trends and tendencies, new approaches to communications, effective promotion strategies, and gave their forecasts for the future of the advertising industry.

The second part of the session featured the Panel Discussion on Merch in the Market Leaders. Why Traditional Mass Media Budgets are Flowing into Merch.
