18 / 10 / 2021

Achievements in mechanical engineering, metalworking, welding production, non-destructive testing and technical diagnostics, advertising industry and other fields are presented at the exhibitions of Russian Industry Week which opened today at Expocentre Fairgrounds.

This year, the large-scale exhibition and congress project of EXPOCENTRE AO, supported by relevant ministries, the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, leading industry associations and unions, and a wide range of experts, received a strong boost.

Russian Industry Week is held for the second time. Along with the International Exhibition for Equipment and Technology for Materials Processing Technoforum 2021, and the International Exhibition for Welding and Cutting Equipment, Materials and Technologies Rusweld 2021. This year the programme of Russian Industry Week includes for the first time the International Exhibition for Advertising Reklama 2021.

The Week at Expocentre Fairgrounds also features: NDT Territory 2021, the International Exhibition and Forum on Non-Destructive Testing and Technical Diagnostics, Digital Signage – Integrated Systems Russia 2021, the International Exhibitions for Audiovisual and Information-Communication Technologies, Systems Integration, Hi-Tech Building 2021, the International Exhibition for Home and Building Automation, Smart Home, Smart City, MetrolExpo 2021. Accurate Measurements – the Basis of Quality and Safety.

Russian Industry Week is part of the main events of the Year of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation in 2021. In this regard, the exhibitions and conference programme of the Week pay special attention to the promotion and demonstration of the latest scientific and technical developments and innovative technologies.

At the Technoforum 2021 exhibition alone, companies from 11 countries including the UK, Germany, the USA, Switzerland, Japan and others are displaying their advanced solutions in mechanical engineering, machine-tool construction and metal-working. And such Russian regions as the Vologda, Lipetsk, and Penza regions are represented by group stands.

This year Technoforum also features a Youth Day aimed at linking the educational, scientific and industrial chain and identifying talented young people, revealing the professional, scientific and creative potential of participants, and drawing attention to the training, support measures and future employment of young professionals.

The Rusweld 2021 exhibition presents the latest solutions and global practices in welding equipment, materials and technologies for welding and metal cutting with an opportunity to demonstrate technological processes in action. Reklama 2021 showcases the latest technologies and developments in all kinds of visual advertising communications.

Russian Industry Week received a welcome address from Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. It says: “The Week will present innovative developments and ideas in the field of industrial equipment and technology most in demand by sectors of the Russian economy and enabling breakthrough solutions to be effectively demonstrated. I am sure that the implementation of such a large-scale congress and exhibition project is very timely in the light of the tasks currently faced by the domestic machine building industry. This applies both to import substitution and increasing the export component”.

At the opening ceremony of Russian Industry Week, Alexey Vyalkin, Director General of EXPOCENTRE AO, underlined that EXPOCENTRE attaches particular importance to supporting domestic inventors and young scientists and promoting their developments. To this end, new formats of work, such as the creation of startup zones, which are formed with the support of development institutions, such as Skolkovo, as well as the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and industry unions, are used at major trade fairs.

EXPOCENTRE’s head explained the urgent need for such work with the example of data, according to which, in the total world volume of high-tech products exported, Russia, unfortunately, for many years now has a share of only half a per cent. "This is why through new formats of work with our exhibitors, through the opportunities we want to offer them, through recruiting a target group of partners, potential investors, potential consumers of new technologies, we strive to expand this lineup so that science and production could reach a new level of interaction," said Alexey Vyalkin. According to him, both the business and exhibition programme of Russian Industry Week is very interesting and extensive - from metalworking to additive technologies.

The Week is an important stage of the NTI Expo (Research-Technology-Innovations Expo) project, which aims to promote government programmes in science and technology, education, digital economy, industry, transport infrastructure and energy. This was highlighted by Vladimir Kononov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education and Chairman of the NTI Expo Project Organising Committee.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Alexey Uchenov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation noted with satisfaction that the exhibitions of Russian Industry Week demonstrate the latest samples of science-intensive high-performance technological equipment, of which our country can rightfully be proud today. He made a special mention of the Technoforum 2021 and Rusweld 2021 exhibitions. "The uniqueness of these exhibitions lies in the reflection of all production processes covering the cycle - from research to pilot and serial production of finished products," he stressed.

Gennady Krasnikov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mikron AO, Dmitry Pristanskov, Vice-President of Norilsk Nickel, Sergey Salikhov, First Vice-Rector of MISIS National University of Science and Technology, Sergey Piskarev, President of the Association of Communication Agencies in Russia, also took part in the opening ceremony of the Week.

Russian Industry Week runs till October 21.
