Round table participants at Reklama 2017 discussed prospects of the Russian advertising industry

Development trends in the modern Russian advertising and priorities of its state and public regulation have been discussed at the round table. The event was organized by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Association of Communication Agencies of Russia (AKAR) and Expocentre AO at the 25th international exhibition for advertising – Reklama 2017.

The moderators of the discussion were Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Elena Dybova and President of AKAR Alexey Kovylov.

Expocentre Deputy General Director Vladimir Gubernatorov and Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Dmitry Savenkov welcomed the participants of the round table.

When opening the discussion Alexey Kovylov stressed the relevance of Reklama 2017 that opened a series of major events in the advertising industry. Speaking on the situation in the advertising market he was pleased to note a strong growth which amounted to 14% from the beginning of this year.

Head of Director of the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service Andrey Kashevarov spoke on activities of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the advertising industry. Among the key challenges he pointed out the reduction in administrative barriers and support of SME in the advertising industry.

The round table participants were top officials of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Main Directorate for Information Policy of the Moscow Region, leading advertising companies and Russian associations. During the discussion they evaluated the current state of the advertising industry and highlighted the challenges which they would face in the future, made suggestions concerning cooperation with authorities, industry associations, and participants in the Russian advertising market.

First Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Information Policy of Moscow Region Alexander Menchuk and Chairman of RF CCI Committee on Entrepreneurship in Advertising Sergey Paskarev expressed their opinion about prospects and problems of the Russian advertising industry.

The participants in the discussion were Director of the Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC) Sergey Plugotarenko, President of Hearst Shkulev Media Viktor Shkulev, President of the Russian Academy of Advertising Vladimir Filippov, member of the RF CCI Committee on Entrepreneurship Regulation, expert in the issues of advertising regulation Dmitry Badalov, and Vice President of AKAR Vladimir Evstafyev.

After the round table discussion, the participants viewed the Reklama 2017 exhibition which ran at Expocentre on September 26-29.
