Russian Advertising Week and Reklama’2010 International Exhibition starts at Expocentre.

26 / 10 / 2010

Pavilion No.2 of Expocentre Fairgrounds hosted the opening ceremony of the Russian Advertising Week and of the 18th Reklama International Specialized Exhibition.

‘The exhibition is extremely important for the development of the advertising industry as well as for the other sectors of the Russian economy,’ said Deputy Director General of Expocentre Fairgrounds Anatoly Sobolev, addressing to the exhibitors of Reklama’2010.

The high reputation of the event is confirmed by the labels from the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) and the Russian Industry of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF)

Organized by Expocentre and the National Advertising Association, the Reklama exhibition is held for the 18th time. Comparing to the last year, which was tough for the advertising industry, this year’s edition shows that the sector has achieved steady growth. And the organizers are happy to welcome to Reklama’2010 over 210 exhibitors from 10 countries.

The exhibition is held under the aegis of the RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Senior Vice-President of the Chamber Boris Pastukhov congratulated the exhibitors and visitors on the opening of the Russian Advertising Week and Reklama’2010. In his address he noted that after the industry slump the exhibition performed even better than in the pre-crisis period.

Moscow's city Duma Deputy Alexandr Krutov stated that the Reklama exhibition was a customary event for Russia and Moscow. He expressed hope that advertising companies would develop successfully and for the benefit of the city and its historical look; and they would find new technical means to effectively attract target consumers.

Representing the authority responsible for monitoring advertising, Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service Department for Control over Advertising and Unfair Competition Tatiana Nikitina hoped that the exhibitors would generate lots of new and legitimate ideas for their creative activity.

Chairman of the RF CCI Advertising Entrepreneurship Committee and President of the National Advertising Association Boris Shkolnikov noted that the 18th edition of the Reklama exhibition was co-located with the 4th Russian Advertising Week, which would be discussing topical issues and prospects of the Russian advertising industry.

Mr Shkolnikov was positive that, despite the slump in the volume of advertising caused by the crisis, the advertising industry would regain the pre-crisis level of performance by the end of the year. But he believed that a more important task was to improve the quality of advertising, to make it honest and truthful, so that it should enjoy the trust of people and help them to get quality products and services. This is where the 18th International Specialized Exhibition Reklama’2010 is designed to contribute a lot.
